Accredited .tr registrars and how to choose one

.tr domains can only be registered through registrars (kayıt kuruluşu, KK) accredited by TRABİS. The list below is taken from TRABİS's website, in TRABİS's order; it is not a recommendation. Prices differ by company and promotion, so we do not compare them here.

What to check when choosing
- Accreditation: make sure the company is on TRABİS's current list. Resellers can sell domains too, but the work still goes through a listed registrar.
- Renewal price: compare renewal prices, not first-year discounts; you will keep the domain for years.
- DNS control: check that you can change name servers freely, manage DNS records yourself and use DNSSEC.
- Transfers: ask whether you can get the authorization code from the panel easily and whether moving out costs extra.
- Registration data: make sure the domain is registered to you (person or company); domains registered to an agency or reseller can cause trouble later.
- Reminders: the registrar must e-mail you at least three months before expiry, so keep your e-mail address current. You can also watch the domain on whoistool to hear about expiry, name server and DNS changes.
Moving to another registrar (transfer)
- Get the domain's authorization code from your current registrar.
- Start a transfer at the new registrar and enter the code.
- A frozen (dondurulmuş) domain cannot change registrar.
- Save a copy of your DNS records first; if your name servers will change, move the records ahead of time so your site and e-mail keep working. Afterwards, the DNS propagation check shows whether the new records have spread.
