Domain availability check

Type the name without an extension and we check com, io, dev, co and other popular extensions at once. To look up one specific domain, type it with its extension.

Paste anywhere on the page — no need to click the box.

How it works

  1. DNS first: a domain with name servers delegated to it is definitely registered and is marked so right away.
  2. For the rest, the extension's registry is asked directly over RDAP or WHOIS.
  3. If the registry has no record, the name looks available; reserved names and lookups without an answer are shown as "Unknown".

Frequently asked questions

›Does the domain check cost anything?

No. Checking is free and needs no account.

›How do I register an available domain?

The "Register" button on available rows takes you to the search page of the registrar you pick. Registration and payment happen at the registrar.

›Why do some extensions show "Unknown"?

The registry did not answer in time, rate-limited the query, or the name is reserved by registry policy.
